Badger x Blake Puppies! — Palm Cottage Farm

On the evening of December 22, 2017, Badger delivered a whole pack of wonderful Christmas presents. Badger, out of Joe Haynes’ Keally and by Michael Gallagher’s renowned Cap, is one of my Open trial dogs. She is a joy to train, to run and just to live with. On sheep, she has a lot of style, is forward and kind, and very biddable. She’s a great mother, though it’s hard for me to give her the time off to raise a litter. (Badger takes exception to that last sentence; she asserts that having 8 youngsters hanging off of your body 24/7 is in no way “time off. I get her point.

The sire of this litter is Mindy Mayer’s Blake. Blake is also extremely tuned into his handler. He has great scope and is very smooth; sheep love him.

The puppies at 8 weeks old…

All eight puppies are in trialing homes. As of this writing, they’ve just turned a year old and all are showing promise!
